The earliest origins of drama are to be found in Athens (Greek) where ancient hymns, called dithyrambs, were sung in honor of the god Dionysus. … One of these, the ‘City Dionysia’, a festival of entertainment held in honor of the god Dionysus, featured competitions in music, singing, dance and poetry

  • Origins of drama in Urdu Literature:

Urdu drama evolved from the prevailing dramatic traditions of North India raas as practiced by exponents like Nawab Wajid Ali Shah of Awadh. His dramatic experiments led to the famous Inder Sabha of Amanat and later this tradition took the shape of Parsi Theatre.

  • What is Drama:

Drama is also a type of a play written for theater, television, radio, and film. In simple words, a drama is a composition in verse or prose presenting a story in pantomime or dialogue. It contains conflict of characters, particularly the ones who perform in front of audience on the stage

  • Importance of Drama:

In Drama students are able to explore intellectual, social, Physical, emotional and moral domains through learning which involves thought, feeling and action. Drama fosters self-discipline, confidence and team work and develops skills in interpreting, researching, negotiating, problem solving and decision making.

  • Drama Club of CCS:

Drama Club is an active club of Cadet College Spinkai. This club is an example of its uniqueness and humor. Since drama is a wide field, that is why Drama Club CCS is providing the best entertainment to the cadets as per their requirements. The Drama Club helps to hone the cadets’ personality. Adorns their hidden talents. The Drama Club of CCS provides cadets with equal opportunities to perform on stage. Drama Club organizes Welcome Social Night for new cadets and Farewell Social Night for senior cadets every year. In which cadets increasingly participate. Cadets of Drama Club usually perform in the following categories.
